The Preschool Experience

Preschoolers are children aged 3 to 6 years old. Many CGL preschoolers have spent a year with us in a toddler classroom and graduated to preschool. However, many preschoolers join CGL at the beginning of their first or second year of preschool. There are three preschool classrooms, each with two teachers for up to 15 children. In addition, an assistant floats through these classrooms throughout the day.

WHAT DOES A PRESCHOOL DAY LOOK LIKE

When a child steps into a CGL preschool classroom, he or she is surrounded by a comforting, home-like environment full of natural and thought-provoking materials. Children are welcome to select materials and companions independently and to manage their play independently. Teachers observe and document each child’s development as they discover areas of art, blocks, creative play, sciences, math, practical life, and literacy.  Children are exposed to different experiences and materials to build critical thinking skills, work through social situations, and discover their “language”.
